Poem [Ik Nazam]

شکیب اپنے تعارف کے لئے یہ بات کافی ہے
ہم اس سے ہٹ کے چلتے ہیں جو راستہ عام ہو جائے

مجھے معلوم ہے اسکا ٹھکانہ پھر کہاں ہو گا
پرندہ آسمان چھونے میں جب ناکام  ہو جائے

اجالے اپنی یادوں کے ہمارے ساته رہنے دو
نجانے کس گلی میں زندگی کی شام ہو جائے

Shakeeb apnay taru’f kay liye yeh baat kaafi hai
Hum us se hatt ke chalte hain jo rasta aa’m ho jaye

Mujhe maloo’m hai usska thikana phir kahan ho ga
Parinda asmaan choonay main jab nakaam ho jaye

Ujaale apni yaad’on kay hamaray saath rehnay do
Najane kisss gali mein zindagii ki sham ho jaye

    He was a prominent Urdu poet whose this verse got quite popular;

    deewar kya giri meray kachay makaan ki
    logo’n nay meray sehen may rastay bana liay ..

    and along others the one you mentioned above;

    ujalay apni yado’n kay .. which one of my friends recites with annoying abundance .. lol

    Super Poem, MashaAllah… i guess I think along the same lines…

    especially the first two lines.
