Load-shedding cannot be ended before 2011

May 30, 2009

Didn’t I say we are in a hopeless situation since we are ruled by a bunch of corrupt liars. Didn’t I say no new power project will surface in the coming years. The ruling politicians would keep buying time and leave the issues for the succeeding governments and the cycle would go on.

So who was that who used to vehemently say that load shedding would definitely be ended by end of 2009? Zardari? Gillani?

Here is the fresh statement:

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan Saturday ruled out the possibility of ending load-shedding in the country before 2011.

Talking to media after meeting with the members of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said in the coming federal budget the poor will be provided relief while more taxes will be imposed on the rich.

He said the Swat operation will continue without making any compromise and that no one will be allowed challenge writ of the government.

It is not this government’s fault that in the totality of Pakistan’s political history, other sources of energy have gone completely unexplored and untapped. Just because the crisis finally occurred at this particular point doesn’t lay the blame on Zardari or other minister’s shoulders.

I’d blame Gillani and Zardari for blatantly lying about the end of load shedding.

Monsieur Imran Khan se kaafi ummeedain theen but he also disappointed w.r.t his stance regarding the current Military Operation. Seems, he just has to oppose anything by the Govt.

koi baat nahi, December 2009 bhi aa jaayega. I am just waiting if Raja Pervaiz Ashraf resigns or will come up with a new lame excuse if loadshedding doesn’t end. Most probably, he will say that since nehroon ki safai ho rahi hay so …
then glaciers nahi melt ho rahay hain …

It wouldnt end unless we do a strike “dharna” similar to Chief Justice ones . Politicans are enjoying free electricity 24/7/365 so why they care about us .
when i think that we dont have still proper electricity in our country and we are a nuclear state it really embarrase me

People in Multan had done so last year. It was a successful protest but it takes hell lot of time and effort to mobilize people.

i fear with all the problems in the country. widespread loadshedding, sky high inflation and unemployment, fragile democracy and judicial system, suicide bombings and a militant insurgency, we have a recipe for a big bloody revolution coming in the next few years 😦

You think so… the bloody revolution is in the offing? If so then it is welcomed from every one except from Taliban.
