That’s so annoying!

February 4, 2009

ringtonesHave you noticed, especially those living in Pakistan, when you call someone and the call gets through, instead of the regular beep you begin hearing some idiotic Indian or Pakistani song. How irritating that is?

I don’t like that for a couple of reasons:

1) It’s not elegant at all. It rather seems childish to subscribe to such service.

2) Imagine being caught in distress, you call up someone for help and when you dial the number a song starts blaring in your ear only to leave you in an utterly bad taste.

The most common situation is when someone makes a call to inform about near one’s death. Think about the caller’s plight.

Why don’t people think about such things in our society?

That is so true A. 200% right in here. All sort of idiotic tunes are played out there in mobile numbers. Repeatedly I have called friends and people in Pakistan only to listen to the songs which have absolutely nothing to do with the person or any form of a greeting message.

Definitely a mobile menace 🙂 I will say

Stupidity galore if you ask me. Some people put Quranic Ayaats as their ringtones, as if that is the only use left for them now :S not to mention those recitations get interrupted whenever someone picks up the phone.

I hate it the most when the phone rings during jumaat ki namaz. Some wouldn’t reject the call so that their namaz is not disturbed. no matter if all others’ does. :/

My husband’s cousin has that song – tujh se naaraz nahin zindagi hairaan houn mein – It reminds me of the movie and I get all uncomfortable, as that particular song has Shabaana Aazmi in it playing a very harsh step mother!

Plain music is ok – songs sometimes really become irritating to listen to if you are not in the mood!

wow, now that you have given the reasons for it, this idea of having an audio clip as a dial tone sounds utterly stupid

I think such a service would be useful only if that number is used for some sort of business purposes, where only clients would be calling you

Asma: That song and movie both are my favorite. But cell phones are not a device to play such tunes.

Exquisite: I think no big, serious company would have such tunes since it looks so non-professional. Soft original ‘hold’ tune, however, is acceptable. I have listened to such ‘hold’ tunes. They sound fine.

talking bout irritating tones … “himesh reshamiya” fan’s will should never be called then …

its so irritating … i feel like throwing my phone on the floor… and squish it with my foot … but sanity saves me from doing that ..
