Fake picture released by ISPR

September 2, 2008

I saw this photo on the back page of The News International on 22nd of August. When I first saw it, it looked different. Later on some journalist pointed out that it was a fake picture and claimed that Kiyani never visited Swat. It is on ISPR’s official website. Zoom it and anyone can tell that it is a fake one.

Have a look!

Once, long ago, on the back page of JANG they showed a very small black and white picture of a MERMAID kept in an aquarium in some small country – I saw it myself – perfect tail and long hair – imagine – there was a mermaid in reality out there and the news channels never reached it in time

    There two thing are important,
1st they are making us fool rather they think that common man of this country is fool.
2nd thing which is positive that now media is very strong and vigilant that nothing can hide from it. So now things will change.

    Ayesha,

    Nice catch.

We at http://www.StinkyJournalim.org followed your lead and have done an analysis of this picture. We have concluded that it was a poor photoshop cloning job.

But before we publish our illustration, I wanted to know which journalist or web article are you referring to when you wrote “some journalist pointed out that it was a fake picture and claimed that Kiyani never visited Swat.”

Can you help? Many thanks for this post. My email is rrs@asrlab.org
