He says:
Democracy is the system of infidels and all those who participate in it are infidels. [He once took part in elections. What would he call himself?]
Women should not be allowed to go outside their homes except for Hajj. [Women are women not prisoners...]
Women aren’t allowed to seek education. [That's the extreme of his jahalat]
Iran and Saudi Arabia don’t have Shari’ah in real sense. [So this means these countries are also evil in his view]
Jihad in Kashmir isn’t mandatory. [My take: I don't call it jihad at all...]
The government can’t appoint Qazis for Darul Qaza. [He wants to retain this right]
It’s sin to take photos of human beings or make video footage. [What a lout man!]
This man has lost it totally. He shouldn’t have been released from the prison. Not only he’s getting out of control but Taliban too don’t seem to listen to him. I n my view, both are the same sides of the coin anyway.
We should learn that Taliban will never:
- Disarm
- Be able to provide justice to ordinary people for they are so corrupt themselves
- Accept girls’ right of education.
- Limit their role. They want to rule.
- Adopt a moderate path. They are extremists and will always remain so.
These are hard times and we are indeed dealing with a serious evil. The latest I read is that Sufi has distanced himself from the peace talks.

He looks really old. His mental faculties may be disintegrating. It sounds like he is suffering from senility and / or dementia.

He’s fit and fine. The thing is that his thoughts and statements are evil and don’t know in whose hands he’s playing

interesting article!!
where i feel that generating awareness (identifying problems) within our masses is important, it is also imperative that we focus on a solutions oriented approach when it comes to blogs/social networking websites. low internet penetration in Pakistan being a constraint limiting what we write to a privileged few readers. in order to make the most of this interface time, we must discussion solutions to problems faced or at least ask right questions of the readers to seek solutions.
what you bring to light in the article is clearly ‘blind leading the blind’.
As a nation if we do not counter this recent but potent phenomenon of religious extremism/T-bans/terrorism, which threatens our sovereignty as a nation, I am afraid our next generation will be the next Afghanistan.
In order to stop this religious extremism/terrorism from spreading we can create a parallel cult ……far fetched maybe but worth a try:
1. Create a moderate yet all encompassing Islamic syllabus through enlightened scholars
2. Set up or buy out existing, religious madrassahs that are currently recruiting our youth and paying stipend to parents (a motivator to send male offspring to madrassahs)
3. Find a sponsor to fund this program Eidhis of this part of the world or other prominent moderate philanthropists
4. Start very small from NWFP or Punjab and expand to a national network
Long live Pakistan!!

Nice suggestions but the whole system is so corrupt that I doubt any one would heed

Interesting thought by Oscar… It requires MASSIVE amount of resources…and people who have such kind of resources are actually culprits of such chaos in our country…
